Meet Nixi.

Nixi is a free voice assistant for Windows that lives at the top of your screen. Use it to dictate into an app, write a first draft, open an app, set a timer or reminder, and ask about what is on your screen.

Dictate where you work.

Press Right Alt, speak, and Nixi types into the focused text field. Clean mode removes fillers and formats punctuation and lists. Polished mode can correct some close spelling errors with a local AI model, but it takes longer and may still miss names. Nixi's dictation is free with no word limit. How Nixi dictation works. See how Nixi compares with Wispr Flow.

Ask Nixi to do something.

Nixi can open apps and websites, control music and volume, set timers and reminders, keep a list, find files, and help with a defined set of everyday actions. It is more than speech-to-text, but it cannot operate every app or understand every request. See the supported voice actions.

Made to run on your PC.

Speech recognition and the built-in AI run locally. Core features work offline after setup. Opening a website, searching the web, updating Nixi or downloading an optional model uses the internet. Read why Nixi runs locally and the privacy notice.
