Dictation on Windows

Your voice has no word limit.

Talk into your Windows apps without counting words or paying for a dictation plan. Put the cursor in a text field, press Right Alt, and speak. Nixi types what you say. Its free dictation has no word cap.

Speak naturally

Clean mode removes common fillers, adds punctuation and formats clear spoken lists. You can correct yourself as you talk. For example, say “The launch is on Thursday, actually Friday.” Nixi types “The launch is on Friday.” See the animated examples in Outlook, Word, VS Code and other apps.

Choose your style

Clean mode is the fast default. Polished mode uses the local AI model to fix some close spelling errors. It takes longer and can still get a name or technical term wrong. Read the text before you send it. A personal dictionary can help with names you use often.

Works without sending speech to Nixi

Speech recognition runs on your PC. After setup, core dictation works without an internet connection. Your audio and transcript are not automatically uploaded to Nixi. The privacy notice explains what the app and website store.

What you need

Nixi needs 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and a microphone. Keep about 4 GB free for setup and updates. We recommend 8 GB of memory. A graphics card is optional. Dictation needs a text field that can accept input; behavior can vary by app.
